Half-Time Adjustments.

This does not seem to be one of Fran's strong points. This coaching staff seems to fail to have the team progress and succeed in the 2nd half of games. This seems to happen on a very consistent basis. Why does Iowa struggle so much to find a decent open shot for the perimeter shooters? Other teams such as Iowa St & UNI seem to be able to run motion or find a way to get players open. Not Iowa for some reason.

These past teams definitely lack consistency at the guard position.

Our opponents are very good at half time adjustments, very good.....

I don't know if it is better to be ahead or behind at halftime....

In regards to shooters, it's simple... Teams put 3-4 3 point shooters on the floor at ALL times. We're lucky to have 2. So thus it's much harder for us to find open guys.

Our guys are open, they just cannot shoot. We have to change the offense to largely ignore the 3 point line. Take jumpers, yes, but do not worry about the 3 pointer. We are cursed at the 20 foot, 9 inch mark.

At least in post-game comments from last night - Fran did say maybe they should come out and run a couple of set plays to start the half..... that would be a solid half-time adjustment. In hoops - you can ****** your 1st 5 plays of the game, then adjust to expected adjustments and run a counter to each of them in a different order. Would get better execution / expectations for success from players.
