Haith to Missouri

Seven years at Miami and he was never once over .500 in conference. Yikes.

Well ISU fans should be happy.

Unlike Missouri fans, some of whom are trying to get the Board of Chancellors to veto the deal. Another embarrassment for AD Alden, following the snubs by the B10 and Painter.

In Haith's favor, he was previously an assistant at Texas, with a rep as a good recruiter. MU has believed recruiting Texas is crucial (even while largely ignoring St Louis).

Edit -s/b Board of Curators

Terrible hire. I can't imagine how irate I would be if I was a Mizzou fan. From having Painter all but hired and you settle for Haith???? Wow.

Wow, I think this hire beats Gregory to Georgia Tech. Interesting theory about Martin possibly going to the U, but I am not sure they care enough about hoops to pay him what he will be seeking. He is a big fish in a smal pond in Manhattan and in Miami, he would be surrounded by apathy.

I wonder if Leonard Hamilton will get a look from OU....possibly Tubby?

OU? They hired Kruger.

A buddy of mine here in Nashville is a Mizzou grad. I got a text from him not too long ago and lets just say its not appropriate to post on the forum of Jon would ban me (again). He is not happy. The guy can recruit but he is without a doubt one of the worst in-game coaches that stands on the sidelines. I would put him neck and neck with alford. I watched the Miami v NC game this year. Miami was up 16 with less than 7 minutes remaining. In a 2 minute span the lead was cut to 4 and NC finally took the lead with less than 1 minute to go. alfordesque.

You know the guy is bad when Miami is simply going to release him without penalty or compensation.

Dont forget the collapse against UNC, up by 19 with 10 to go. However they did mange to score like 10 or so points in a minute against clemson to force overtime and win in overtime.

You know I saw this first thing this AM and then I had to run off. I can tell you down here in Columbia they are not happy at all. They think this was a very desperate move by Alden. The rumor has it that he couldn't stand to get turned down again so he went with a guy he knew would take the job. Good recruiters are important, make sure he gets a bench coach to help him and I think he can be good.

You would have thought that with all the Walton cash infused into this program that they would have aimed a little higher and hired a big name. This hire is pretty underwhelming and if I were a Tiger's fan, I would not be the least bit excited.
