An article about her re-signing mentioned having to replace a couple players due to injuries and one leaving to play in Europe. Hopefully she can take advantage of it and gets a chance to show them she can play.

Not an uncommon roster move in the NFL, WNBA, and NBA (to a lesser extent these days due to rise of G League affiliates).

In all three sports, the sum of previously rostered players, free agent signings, and draft picks is always greater than the allowed numbers on the roster on opening day. You have to cut players after training camp. Eventually, players on your active roster are going to get hurt, and you'll have to bring someone in to replace them. A lot of times, it makes the most sense to bring back the player who you cut because they are a known commodity in terms of staff awareness, chemistry with teammates, and knowledge of the system.
