Ok...I'll admit it. I like watching Scott Frost's press conferences after Nebraska loses. I've really watched a lot of press conferences over the past three years. I'm telling you...he looks like he has a huge turd that won't come out...the whole press conference. His relationship with the fan base is like a drug addicts relationship with his vice. He feeds them enough of his history of the old days, throws in a few Tom Osborne references, then drops a Devaney in there...and the fan base has enough to get them to the next game. Funny, funny stuff.

I can tell by some of the comments that get posted that Nebraska fans are getting really tired of the excuses. All the comments were talking about how he always says, "we had a great week of practice...and I felt we were ready for the game." So I guess you can say Scott Frost's teams really leave it on the practice field.

The Nebraska fan base was so sure that Scott was their savior...and he's been worse than Mike Riley was...Bill Callahan was. It's really hilarious that he hasn't measured up to those two coaches.

It took Hayden Fry 3 years to get his first Big Ten title...and he took over one of the historically worst programs in college football for 20 years. In his 3rd year, Scott Frost is 2-5 and getting blown out by Illinois, and losing to a decimated Minnesota team with true freshmen playing everywhere.

Nebraska has truly earned their date at Rutgers during Championship Week. LOL.

I only dislike them for their arrogance. Its like a certain soon-to-be ex-executive. They don't know how to human if it isn't going their way. They should just win because they have before. The natural condition of things is off if they aren't winning. Guess what, everyone....and its close to EVERYONE has caught up and passed you. Deserves has EVERYTHING to do with it now. You deserve your position in the Big Ten conference.

I saw he blamed the numerous media timeouts for his offense's inability to find rhythm vs. the Gophs. Was that his first televised game?

Funny and ironic. Michigan and Nebraska are in very similar boats. Both were so desperate and put all their chips in the middle of the table and hired their "legacy" coaches or savior coaches. Both mightedly struggling with a huge question of where do they go from here and into the future.

Good stuff and entertaining indeed!! Can't make this shit up!

True enough...look at ALL of Iowa's hires in basketball, football......none were the "sexy" hire....of course.....we don't have to hire too often. Hmmm?

If we are at a high level or on an upward trajectory when KF decides to retire ill go on record as promoting a sexy, logical hire. Bob Stoops. Bill Bellicheck. Urban Meyer (lol I know I know).

I clearly remember when they hired Ferentz. I was like 27 and didn't know the whole coaching tree of Fry at that time. Hayden was all I knew as a kid and young adult watching Hawkeye football. I did recall the Bob Stoops situation during the hiring process.

They hired Ferentz and I was like kind of bitter wondering "Who the hell is Curt Ferents?". Well, Iowa stuck with him as he slowly built it. They got better and more wins each year and finally go to the Alamo Bowl. Then 2000 season hit!

To me, Ferentz was a sexy hire. As a Browns fan, I remember the '94 season where we won on a good defense (coached by Saban) and a helluva OL coached by KF, even though they weren't necessarily thought to be stars. He became an assistant head coach in Baltimore and became a huge name in the rumor mill for everyone's head coaching search (reminds me of Eric Bienemy). I was hoping it would time out long enough for him to come to Iowa, but I knew it was too good to be true. I truly wanted KF over BS. But then again, I'm a Browns fan and my view of FB as a little (a lot?) skewed.

Also, **** Scott Frost.

I was actually going to post a question on how interested he would be in a school like Iowa. Yea, it looks like a pipe dream from afar, but, when he talks about Iowa there seems to be an admiration for the program and how much the university supports coaches and gives them a leash.

He's recently stated he'd have to have the perfect situation like many state. I don't think he'd ever be interested in a high profile blue blood situation anymore with the stress. Ironically, Iowa could be a perfect school for an older coach with questionable health issues heading into retirement. One might just look at it as a chance to take another team to a championship. Iowa has not been consistently at that level but have the ingredients, facilities and support for that to happen with a good coach. May just be enticing enough as it would be like his 3rd team if that were to happen. That would solidify him as one of the best ever.

I'm not saying he would be interested, but, just saying I could see it from a coach. A chance to be successful in a much less stressful environment. And hell, Iowa would pay ya!!

Ok, feel free to blast me.

Oh you're the one. Nice to meet you.

The past two hires in football have been pretty good. The previous hire in basketball....he who's name we do not mention...was a "sexy hire." Not a big name sexy hire which would have been fine....but the kind of person we seem to target as we don't feel we can get a top notch talent. That should change you'd think. A smart, good football coach should see the Iowa loyalty and top 25 program and salivate!

Meyer seems to genuinely enjoy being a commentator, and he's very good at it. That said, I could see him getting the itch to coach again, but it would have to be an ideal situation. He has tremendous respect for the Iowa program, yes, but my guess is that he would pass due to the recruiting challenges. For him, the school would have to be a name-brand and/or ideal geographic location with a fertile recruiting base. He's not going to put himself in a situation where there are too many built-in hurdles.

Even more the pay day $$ and long leash they give you.

Nebraska being forced to go TO Rutgers to play an utterly meaningless game at 3:00 on a Friday is absolutely delicious to me.

As a Clown fan you have put a lot of moronic takes on this board. This is NOT one of those takes. Nice post, xir.

The funny thing is that Rutgers is the team that is going to want this game. Nebraska is going to dial it in. Guess what...Rutgers plays physical. What happens when Nebraska faces a team like that after a disappointing season? It's not good.

It's also clear to me that the Iowa game now matters to Nebraska and Scott Frost. They get up to play Iowa. They won't be up to play Rutgers.
