Grow Up People!!!

I was looking at Ross's twitter account when I was shocked to see all negative comments by Hawkeye fans. This is exactly what Iowa doesn't need. It's pathetic to see idiots hustle a kid like that. People calling him a"traitor" is not going to keep him committed to Iowa.

Are we going to have this discussion every single time a fan tweets at a recruit? Give up.

Are there any Bama fans on there trashing him for being committed to Iowa? Or just trashing Iowa in general? Works both ways. And all teams have those types of fans.

Seepig, just relax. I think you are getting worked up over nothing. This kid isn't going anywhere. Couple of questions...do we put linemen into the NFL on par with Alabama. Answer is yes. Where do you think Ross has a better chance of playing earlier in his career. Answer is Iowa. Which school is closer to home and one he has followed through his childhood and is a big fan? Answer is Iowa. Now the question about how the Hawkeye's do this year and whether that impacts his decision, that's a tougher question. I will tell you this, Iowa may go 6-6, although I obviously think the team is better than most realize (see signature). If we do go 6-6, it won't be because of the offensive line play...it will be because our QB couldn't get it done. Our offensive line is going to be impressive...big, nasty, and with something to prove. If I'm a prospect, I'm going to look at my unit and ask, 'can I see myself with some of the guys we will have coming back next year (Scherff, Donnal, Simmons, Blythe, Walsh, Ward, etc). There a comradery here...and it's a be like Mike kind of thing. Alabama doesn't have any of that going on with Ross right now. They are way behind on this one. I doubt he's going to 4-5 Alabama games this year either. Let's keep one hand on our nuts and one hand on the wheel. Ok.

*giggle*

I just think it is ridiculous to expect a kid to stay committed to a school where fans of that school are yelling at him and calling him names.

and people wonder why I never signed up for twitter. If Olympia never signed up for twitter, what's that say about the rest of you people following this story like it's life and death huh?

Grow up and stop following high school kids on Twitter.

If my son got an offer from 'Bama I'd tell him to at least consider it or he's an idiot. Especially considering the state of our program right now. That's just reality.

So...if Iraq or Afghanistan had made "serious" advances against our military and we were perceived to be getting our a**es kicked, you'd fork over the passport? If/when China's GDP dwarfs ours, you'll stop buying American?

That's quite the jump in analogy. Citizenship of a country and what team you want to play for aren't anywhere close to the same level.

If an 18-year old kid getting excited that he just got a scholarship offer from a school that's won three of the last four national championships can't get happy about that, what can he get happy about?

Wasn't saying he shouldn't be happy about it, only that tweeting it out may not have been the best way to express it. Maybe his parents should have said something. They had to know it would rankle the over-sensitive wing of Hawkeye Nation.

Then again, most of us can put on our big boy pants and get over it.

I guess I don't see what you see regarding all the people calling him names?

Nothing against Ross, as this may or may not apply to him, but IMO any recruit that is influenced by idiot posters that he doesn't even know regardless of fanbase isn't the type of mentality I want coming into the program I support. To me it screams we may be dealing with a headcase and they can take their ego and superiority complex elsewhere.
