Griffey Jr. to retire

Definitely a sad, sad day in baseball. If he does not get hurt so much, he owns the all-time HR record. And, to my knowledge, he was clean his whole career. Junior was my favorite non-Braves player ever.

pre-steroids Bonds was better than Griffrey, but it was really, really close

admired Griffey's swing and D, but always seemed kinda phony-nice to me

I still remember being 10 and the absolute hysteria over the 89' Upper Deck rookie card. It's the end of an era.

Griffey played the game the right way, and had a true passion for the game. His injuries started when he signed with the Reds, and was never the same player again. With that being said, he's a shoe-in first ballot hall of famer.

I don't agree, but its like the Mantle vs. Mays argument, there just is no right answer.
