Gregory

I don't think it has ever been confirmed that he has an Iowa offer. But, I think you are right that Arkansas might be leading right now.

just saw it posted on another site, like it was stated before there is some confusion as to whether he has a Iowa offer, it would be a shame from all thing considered if he didn't make it as a qb he could switch to wr at 6'3 and good speed, not to mention there is the connection to Diamond

I don't see Diamond ending up a Arkansas, but that's just me. I read he loved the visit there and so did his mom, but I still think Michigan is the real player here. The longer he waits, the better I think Iowa's chances are.

Rob Howe stated early today that he is standing by his statement that Gregory does not have an offer from Iowa.

its more likely he has one, ESPN saying he has one, is more than credible, they very rarely show Iowa in any recruits interest list

plus it is hard to believe that Fuller is the only uncommitted qb with a offer being shown and with him being listed as a athlete by other sites makes you wonder, once he commits it won't matter one way or the other, if he chooses Iowa great, if he goes to Arkansas oh well, next

that is a pretty far from the truth statement right there. Not saying he doesn't have an offer but saying because ESPN says so isn't a good defense usually.

FWIW, Tom Kakert from Rivals wrote a free column for the Cedar Rapids Gazette online where he did a pretty detailed breakdown of recruiting at each position, mentioning the most likely targets still left for Iowa at each spot.

Under QB the only mention of Iowa offers were Kiel and Pike. No mention of Gregory, which would be odd considering he has an announcement soon and all of the prospects announcing soon were mentioned at other positions.

He went on to say that Iowa will likely recruit QB this year like they did when they got Stanzi, i.e. wait until at least November before offering anyone else.

The write up I did a few weeks back was taking Reese Fleming's tweet into account and also reflective of the Rivals database showing an offer.

That being said, I am inclined to side with Rob Howe on this one right now, and I don't think Gregory has an offer from Iowa.

Could it be an issue of Howe having information from within the athletic department about Gregory whereas the folks at 247 and Rivals have talked directly to Gregory. I'm sure a source within the team would be more reliable, so if that could be Howe's source, I would be inclined to believe him as well. Are people within the athletic department authorized to talk to the media about recruits if its "off the record"?

Kind of disappointing if he doesn't have one. That guy looked electric, the kind of dual-threat that we haven't had since Banks.

There have been occasions in the past where recruits inflate their offer list in order to attract other schools into the scholarship pool. Most coaches aren't gullible enough to fall for that trick, but then again Biels can't be the only one to go thru a steep learning curve.:D

I'm kinda suprised AR is number 1 on his list. They have a qb thats a freshman Brandon Allen this yr that was a top 5 qb coming out thats a hometown kid from AR. He's a pro style kid about the same size as Vandenberg. I bet that kid is the reason that Michigan's qb changed his mind about going there. I know we have Ruddock on our roster too but you look at what type of O that they typically run with Petrino I don't think it'll fit Greggory's style. You can call Okeefe alot of things but at least he's versitile with his personel. When you can go from Banks to Chandler thats about as extreme as it gets. I think Iowa mighta dropped the ball and not went after him soon enough or hard enough. Hope we aren't out of it yet.
