Greg Davis A+

I personally think Brian Ferentz needs to go before Greg Davis. We gave up 29 sacks this year and we basically didn't throw it in three or four games this year (Michigan, Illinois, etc)...and if you count in the QB pressures...it's probably 125 total plays where the QB had no time to throw. CJ wasn't quite the same QB, but he was never able to get comfortable in just about any game this year. It's hard to blame the offensive coordinator when the passing game is completely decimated because you can't protect the QB. I won't even go into the drops and poor routes by our young receivers.

Think about calling a game when your QB has less than 2 seconds to throw...are you going to run double moves, deep patterns? No, its a short passing game and the defense is going to sit on all routes. You have to be accurate and efficient in that scenario and there is absolutely no margin for error. That's what you saw this year.

Brian Ferentz is supposed to have his offensive line prepared to protect the QB. It didn't happen.

You're clueless....Learn the game. Brain Ferentz is responsible for RB's missing blitz pick-ups 25+ times? We had more sacks due to RB's missing blitz pick-ups and CJ 'stepping into' pressure than from the line breaking down. FACT! Film doesn't lie. You lose again. Michigan sacked Ohio St. at least 8 times today. Should they fire they line coach, idiot stick? It's almost as if you know absolutely nothing about about football.....leave the analyzing to us who know what is going on....you just confuse the other ignorant sheep.

Oh Icke, I mean Eric Cartman, you are such a tool. Nice one Fat Ass. Ok, so when the DE from NW got 6 sacks on our tackles, that was the backs, ok...right. Our backs were terrible in blitz pick up, especially early in the season, but to say they were the primary issue is hilarious. Are you going to tell me that Bower is better than Jewell again? You are so brilliant.

All you have to do is look at Iowa's opening possession of the game. Not sure if GDAvis scripts his first so many plays but the hawks get 5 yards right up the middle with Daniels and then we have two pass plays in a row. Again not sure if CJ audibled into those passes but it didnt look like it.

Five yards on first down and you dont run again to try to get 3rd and short? The pass plays were there and CJ really didnt throw the ball that well on those plays but both were long throws on shorter out patterns, not the simplest of throws.

How many times has GD abandoned the run and we get three and outs?

And KF said in the post game that the bootleg was CJ's call, not the coaches.
I heard that, too. Pretty cool they let him call his number in that situation. I was waiting for an Indiana-like takeoff for the end zone, but he must have thought better about it.

Update: After Saturday's games, Iowa is now 118th out of 128 teams in total offense and 114th in passing. Greg Davis gets a D- at best and that grade is generous.

118th / 114th. How can an OC possibly survive that. Seriously. 8-4 in the P5 with the 118th ranked offense....that is unreal.

Phil Parker, while not perfect, deserves some props.

The OC always looks better when the team executes and you can pound the ball down someones throat......Still would like to see him go.
It SHOULD help to have all the OL healthy for the bowl game. I'm still puzzled by the mid season shuffle that occurred.....it appears that when its close they play who they like better personally. It's only human nature.

He made about 3 good calls today. The CJ bootleg late and the two crossing patterns, one for a TD.

Other than that Iowa ran the ball down Nebraska's throat. Any of us could have called the running plays to LD and AW.

His offensive schemes are very offensive to modern day football and I hope he fades away after the bowl game.
Cap said bootleg cj's call.how about speed? Bowl in 30 days will be fresher.

I've been very critical of Phil but for the most part they turned it around after Penn State and actually had good games against Wisconsin, Purdue (before putting the 2's in). I am encouraged by our young DB's who seemed to hold up fine against Michigan, Illinois and Nebraska.

Here's some evidence for you. Ranked 100th out of 128 teams in total offense including 109th in passing offense.

He needs to go, period. Retire already you old fart.

I was never the biggest fan of KOK, but he's a genius compared to Davis, who by the way was out of work for a year before KF hired him. It was a bad hire then and remains so today.
It was a terrible hire but GD still wanted to work...he had a ton of experience at a good program and would do whatever Kirk wanted him to do (if you want to remain employed you do what the boss wants). That's why I'm an entrepreneur.

I see where you're coming from now. You're totally delusional, so that explains a lot. All you do is emote and spew crap that has no basis in reality, but you stick with it week in and week out....thus DELUSIONAL by definition. So in your 'delusional' world a DE got 6 sacks on our tackles, LOL....Hilarious. Do you get videos to show us of your alternative reality? I would love to see it. And here you go with the 'delusion' that I ever stated that Bower was better than Jewell. Maybe you can scrounge up the post I said it on.....or is it only on your delusional message board? LOL.. ........Maybe they'll 'win one this century' in your alternative reality...maybe they already have??? Seriously friend, you are in dire need of professional help for you mental illness(s)....or maybe you have some sort of cognitive disability? If you do, let me know and I'll 'talk' to you differently since that is something you can't control......
