I personally think Brian Ferentz needs to go before Greg Davis. We gave up 29 sacks this year and we basically didn't throw it in three or four games this year (Michigan, Illinois, etc)...and if you count in the QB pressures...it's probably 125 total plays where the QB had no time to throw. CJ wasn't quite the same QB, but he was never able to get comfortable in just about any game this year. It's hard to blame the offensive coordinator when the passing game is completely decimated because you can't protect the QB. I won't even go into the drops and poor routes by our young receivers.
Think about calling a game when your QB has less than 2 seconds to throw...are you going to run double moves, deep patterns? No, its a short passing game and the defense is going to sit on all routes. You have to be accurate and efficient in that scenario and there is absolutely no margin for error. That's what you saw this year.
Brian Ferentz is supposed to have his offensive line prepared to protect the QB. It didn't happen.
