Great Use of a Bye Week

I am not certain Rudock is starting. Odds are indiana is guessing at this point too. But I am not sure if its a master plan of deception either.

That's the best part of when someone is "playing" dumb. You can't tell what he knows. Maybe he really does not know.

You may be the only person in the known universe
who isn't certain that Jake is starting. The odds must
be astronomical. You should put a few bucks on it just
in case. This could be your winning lottery ticket.

I absolutely hate when he says,

"It’s really hard to regulate anybody’s feelings or monitor it. I’m not that smart."

Really?? You make how much to be a head coach? It's either that or his memory.

Let me translate that for you:
"It is none of your damn business."

I'm not certain that Jake is starting, I wouldn't put money on it one way or the other.

Read into the coach speak, folks...

Parker running plays in the wildcat.

Come on, You guys are looking like rookies here!!

Do they provide free snacks for the press that have tocove these things? That is the only reason to go. Kf gives the blandest snoozer press conference of any coach I have seen.

Jake is 100% starting.

We will be down 10-0 when CJ takes his first snap. Down 17-14 at half. Then the leftover pizza Kurt had for breakfast will be translated to a gut feeling and jake will play the whole 2nd half, where Iowa will probably lose 27-20.

You should see a presser for just about any other coach in America. Then you'd be saying KirFer's pressers are par for the course.

The media areas at the game or other events will often have food. But its lousy snack food of the lowest order, and sports media types who spend all their time following sports often have the worst taste in food.

there's a reason stations like WHO send someone like John Sears to cover the iowa media day and not Keith Murphy. They aren't going to learn a ton from it but honestly, they have anything better to cover on a tuesday afternoon?

We shouldn't ever have to worry about tipping our hand to Indiana. If you can't understand that, I don't know what to tell ya.

Derp...

seriously, you can't believe that, so yeah, I don't understand, please drop some knowledge on me.

Indiana is capable of beating any team in the conference. I know that's more of an indictment on the B1G and maybe Iowa than anything, but it's true so try again.

Why play his hand?

If you can't read the most basic of coach speak, I dunno what to tell ya. Jake starts, he's done nothing to lose that right. If the offense doesn't gel, CJ will get a shot early. They'll ride the hot hand. If Jake plays great and they get a lead, CJ will get in later in the game.

This is not as hard as everyone wants to make it.

Well, except for failing to demonstrate that he's not inferior to his backup.

And of course they beat the defending SEC East champs at their place...and Missouri has a good chance to win the SEC this year....so, yes, they might be able to challenge some Big Ten teams....Big Ten is not that much better than the SEC.

Whenever he says "I'm not smart enough to figure that out." he means "I can't believe you're not smart enough to figure that out."

There are 2 rules to success:
1. Never tell everything you know.

Riiiiight, and he knows how to manage a clock too.

I don't know why so many people try to take his pressers literally.
Whenever he says "I don't know" he knows.
Whenever he says "We'll figure it out" they already have a plan.

What about when he says..."We don't know how to prepare for a fake punt" or "I don't know how to manage the clock".

I'm starting to get the feeling that there's a fair number of people who would be upset if JR starts and leads the team to 3 TDs in the first half.
