Great to have depth at RB, but.......

Thoughts on King getting some touches on the offensive side of the ball!? I was thinking about this today!

Maybe next year when they are building his Heisman case. This year I am feeling pretty good about the playmakers they are putting out there at all positions.

-----I will take Kirk's decision over a poster anyday of the week on this board

Like passing up on a 42 yard field goal after an extended drive?

Canzeri is nice to have, but the defense has to respect Wadley.

Wadley is better but needs to run outside the tackles. Leshun inside

I agree with this statement, but would like to add that canzeri has been very effective on a pitch sweep outside this year as well. Great 3 and 2 play.

If you're going to do this you'd have to take him off return duties. No way you can ask a guy to play all snaps on D, return punts and kicks and play offensive snaps.

At that point you can't just give him the ball every time he is lined up in offense. He would have to play enough snaps that he could be a decoy on some plays. Furthermore, as good as King is at corner, I'm not sure he's the explosive type of player that we really benefit from having him get touches on O.

So I think he's fine just where he is... Lock down corner and reliable returner.

I still don't like what I see from Daniels, hesitant and turns his back to contact. Fumble waiting to happen. Glad to get Jordan back.

I noticed that as well, he turns at contact a lot, I don't like that at all. He got a ton of upside and talent, but is #3 for now.

Crazy thought here but... Is there somewhat of a wired advantage to having some guys get "rested" as they heal up from injury??

What I mean by that and I've never played the RB but with all the hits they take, they have to be sore in multiple areas. So at least as guts like Leshun and Canzeri have to heal up their ankles, the rest of their body should have some relief from the weekly punishment.

I agree with that. Play the most healthy guys and rest the dinged when you can. We are spreading the workload much better this year because we have depth. Carries per game is balanced pretty well.

Carries/Game

Canzeri 15.1
Daniels 9.8
Wadley 7.2
Mitchell 2.2
CJ 6.9

It's fun having a runningback where you can say "he's gone" as soon as he hits the hole like the one on the long run yesterday. Last year that would have been a 20 yard gain.

It's great to have this problem. Canzeri, Wadley, Daniels, then it drops off a bit to Mitchell. Solid help off the bench. Have to give the line a lot of the credit too.

That is why Wadley is the better back....he keeps the defense more honest.

wait until next year ... LOL

we have Graham the JUCO who looks solid on tape
the 3 stud rbs in from Ill / WI and Indiana
Wadley and Daniels back

may the best man win

Name the junior college . . .

. . . liberals:rolleyes:

I think a 3 way split at this point makes a ton of sense. Canzeri is the definite 3rd down back as his hands and experience in the passing game are excellent. Leshun is the power back when you need a yard or a goaline carry. Wadley is your "scatback"

They all 3 deserve carries and should/will get them
Wouldn't Mitchell be the 3rd down back? He is now.

Put L. Daniels in at fullback. He'll play all the time. Design some offensive plays for him. More handoffs to the fullback. Less QB sneaks. Problem solved. And it makes our offense even that harder to game plan against. And Daniels doesn't need to diet any more.
