Pretty impressive to graduate in three years with academic all American honors while playing a sport whose schedule of games affects two different semesters.

It looks like Gesell was smart enough to know he was a student athlete at Iowa, and not just a basketball player. He sounds like he is going to have a great life after basketball. He is a talented basketball player, but I doubt he spent all of his free time working on his basketball game.

Doubt he had much free time at all if the graduated in 3 years. Good for him!

Iowa Basketball owes this kid. He and Woodbury have paved the way to get the program where it is today...and for Fran to have a shot at turning this thing around like they have over the past three years.

It would be great to see those two go out with a bang in the B10 and the tourney. Sweet 16 would be a nice gift to them for their dedication to reviving Iowa Basketball.
