No he just said how he felt as a 17/18 year old. Most people's view points change as they grow up and mature. I appreciate him being honest. I'm glad Grant felt the need to respond to how someone felt 20 years ago.
Yes that was Jalens thought as a high school kid.
But his and the other 3 comments on the show and on ESPN (first take or whatever they are on) show they still feel the same way
Exactly!! Hawkmike, have you seen his subsequent interviews after the show in which he repeatedly avoids the question of how he feels today? He finally managed to spit out "well I never saw Coach K in Detroit, that's for sure" (or something along those lines).
Yes he was young when he took the money and had those points of view...but he seems to have the same outlook on the situation now in regards to some of the things that he thought/said/did.
Yeah I have and in every one he's said that's how I felt when i was seventeen. Not that's how I feel. I'm sure he doesn't call Jay Williams an uncle tom every time he sees him at ESPN.
Does he still feel that Duke only recruits a certain type of black athlete today? Yes, I'm sure he does and he would be right. Does he still feel those black athletes are uncle toms? Probably not, believe it or not your beliefs can change over twenty years.
