Not gonna lie it gave me some flashbacks to the Lickliter days... Long scoring droughts no transition buckets at all due to walking the ball up every time. It's tolerable because Iowa usually takes really good shots. They don't take many head scratchingly bad ones even though they run the shot clock down. We just need to shoot better from the outside more often (Howard was the man down the stretch with his) and make our FTs. The missed FTs thing again kinda reared it's ugly head down the stretch. And TOs we had a stretch where that hurt too.

But the defense made all those things irrelevant and got us the W. Ben knows what he's doing. We're going to run into some more athletic teams that are going to physically impose their will on us but I think this team will always have a punchers chance cause they'll defend and fight tooth and nail every possession. Something we haven't had forever. Should be a fun year we're also going to win some games we aren't supposed to cause of it

According to KenPom, Iowa is 359th out of 365 in AdjT. Hard not to get Lickliter PTSD with that stat. Just have to keep in mind BM isn’t Lickliter, the efficiency on offense will be at a much higher level.

All things considered, at the end of the day an ugly win is better than a pretty loss. It will be interesting to see how the MSU game shakes out.
