I've heard that he knows he has to move to impress highly because of all the shenanigans in the athletic department under his watch.

Getting two night games wad a huge win for him, and I think for the fans and hopefully the team as well.

I'm going to use this as a basis for my new found optimism that somebody, somewhere, lit a fire under this program and we are in for a treat.


I'm prepared for the "fool me once" scenario to play out, but I'm going to go ahead and get those season tickets this year.

That, unfortunately, is probably not up to him. I am hoping he lobbies for a better game day experience to match the night games.

Good news is that the Minny game is right in the heart of post-highschool football season recruiting. The bad news is that it will very likely be the type of weather that will scare off southern recruits.

That and Minnesota will probably run up the score again. Jerry Kill has been outcoaching Kirk every matchup. Even when Minny was lousy they still outplayed/coached Iowa. Pretty tough to stomach the onside kick coverage fails.

The pig has been in the gophers trophy case 3-2 since 2010. Kirk should be beating Minnesota every year even with the goofy schedules that play them on the road more than home.
