Gophers: in or out?

I swear there is more discussion about the goofers on this board than the Hawks.

Weigh in on Nebraska Kelley. If they go 4-2 with my projection does their RPI get into the 40s? Will an RPI in the 50s be enough at 18-12 with 1 BTT win (19-13) and finishing 9-3 in their last 12 in the regular season?

What gets baffling is when you look at teams from other conferences. Take the Missouri Valley and Wichita State who are 27-0 right now and have an RPI of 7 in a pretty weak conference especially after Creighton left and are heading for a #1 seed. Yet when you look at their SOS they sit at 94 and you look at Minnesota at an SOS of 6 you start scratching your head on how they do their calculations. If you've seen Wichita State play and they were in the Big 10 what do you guys think they're record would be.

I've watched them play against Drake and a little bit in one or two other games. They are probably somewhere in the Ohio State, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Nebraska mix. They look like the higher end of that group but don't have to grind it out every game in the B1G which could very well have them looking more like Minnesota or Nebraska about now. I think they are an NCAA team but not a contender for the B1G championship.

Not gonna happen. Pick one of the two.
Minnesota in as a 12 seed will amazingly be bracketed with Louisville as a 5 seed.

Iowa wins championships will go in as a 3 seed and will accidentally be bracketed with UCLA as a 6 seed.

my how things change in a few days. If the Goophs lose 3 of the next 4...which I think they will. I see them on the popping edge of the bubble.

I don't care about their SOS. That would make them a 6-10 team in the second half of their season. That is not....an NCAA tourney team.

I agree that loss to Illinois was devastating for them and it does not get any easier for them as the last four games are @ Ohio St, Iowa, @ Michigan, and PSU. They have GOT to win at least 2 and probably at least 1 in the BTT to get in. The game next Tuesday against Iowa might be a make or break game for them. If they shoot like they did against Illinois the Hawks will destroy them.

I just hope they try to run with us like they did the 1st time. They might hang with us for awhile but not 40 minutes...IMO.

ugh ... based on their record today, if Minn got in, it's the best reason yet why the tournament should go back to 64 teams ... Minn still has a lot of work to do IMO

I agree, when you look at some of those bubble teams when the field is 68 and it gets brutal. But money will keep the tournament expanding.
