Anybody have a Google cell plan? How do you like it? Droppage? I talked with a guy who really likes it. Substantial savings compared to the usual providers. You get credit for any leftover gigabytes you dont use a month. No contracts.

For Google Fi to make sense you have to be a low data user. $10/GB is insane nowadays, and with the unlimited plans offered by all the major carriers I don't see Google's wireless service staying alive very long. You're also tied to one of a couple phones, which eliminates a big part of the market (iPhone and Samsung users). I average 16-17 GB per cycle, which would put me around $190 a month without taxes and fees. On Verizon's unlimited plan, right now I pay 0% interest for 24 months on my phone, and with the phone payment, unlimited talk, text, and data, and taxes and fees I pay $118.52 a month. I can also trade in and upgrade my phone every 12 months, or choose not to. Regarding data, I can stream every college and pro football and basketball game that I want without worrying about overages which is a huge thing to me. For instance, I had a long ride to my son's football game two weeks ago which took up the entire first half of the ISU game. My girlfriend drove and I didn't miss any of it.

So, if you're a low data user who doesn't care which phone you get, Google Fi might be a good option.

Thanks. Yea, I don't stream movies, shows, games or even music. I basically surf a couple sites, including this one (as painful as it is on a phone). I can get by under 3 GB. I mostly use wireless when at home or work and not the data plan.

I hear that all the time but I never have any problems. I use an iPhone with 1Blocker installed and never get an ad or popup. Weird.

Yeah the streaming thing is huge for me because with a 10 year old I can't always guarantee I'll be home every Saturday. Hawks basketball is a crap shoot too. I also like it because I can get any B1G game, so if the Hawks are on TV on BTN, I can still watch the Huskers get killed by DMACC at the same time.
