The thing that's really getting lost here is that the only way NU scored last night was a a freak play that was a flea flicker that went wrong and they got a lucky bounce that sucked all the MN defense to the LOS.

The question: two good defenses, or two terrible offenses?

Agree. My take is that their D will be solid and that the offense will improve gradually. Minnesota could very well be a solid team late in the season. They play very hard on defense and their skill players on offense are fine. I wouldn't sleep on them at all.

For those of you suggesting this could be Fleck's last year, um, they have had the best three year run in modern program history. He can't beat Iowa or win the West, but he is winning 8-9 games a year consistently. He is loved up there and aint going anywhere unless someone comes and gets him, which I doubt will happen..

As for Nebbie, same team, different coaches and players. Terrible, undisciplined and not physical line. No playmakers. Except for the QB, who can run, but likes to throw it to the other team. Solid defense. Wash rinse and repeat. If they want to get to a bowl game, they better beat Coach Prime in Boulder next week.

If they continue to run their QB as much as they did last night, he will maybe last half the season and at best, play hurt the remainder of the year.

I think the announcers said Fleck has won more games in the last 5 years than anyone not named OSU or Mich. Did I hear them right?
