Goodson Injury

He could be eligible for a grad transfer. Taylor will be gone at UW, he’d probably get some carries but not many if he wanted to return home.

Honestly I think he stays at Iowa. Seems like a team guy.
I don’t see him staying if he’s going to be behind 2-3 guys; he could be an immediate starter at an FCS school somewhere.

Who knows what the RB position group depth will be going into next year.

With TGs emergence a case could be made for most of them to leave. Coach Foster may have to do some serious talking to keep some of them around.

Think about it:
- Both Young and Sargeant might want to go be a featured back somewhere next year, their last year of eligibility. Assuming both have graduated they could go to a mid major or an FCS school and be the man. Sargeant may even want to give pro ball a shot. But if either or both come back they could make a run at 2000 career rushing yards and that would be a nice legacy to leave behind.
- IKM already well discussed
- Byrd, we had good reports on him from spring ball and nothing much since. Does he see a future for himself?
- if memory serves we have a couple RBs coming in next year, no idea how good they are I hope we're not counting on them for the depth chart but maybe so.

This play was incredible, anybody that has concerns about Goodson being to small for the B10 should watch this play. Not only was he fast enough to get by 2 defenders he bowled over 2 more to get into the endzone.

I love this guy, he has the makings to be a special player.

Young is certainly starting material at a lot of schools that like to bang a big body straight ahead. Young has really improved his first read and first cut making it into the best hole and getting his good yardage. A lot of people think the pros dont run power football but there is a reason Belichek and other coaches go for the L Blount type players who can bang it up the middle and make play action for a qb like Brady possible. Johnson at the Cardinals is around 225 or 230 I think and T Coleman etc.

Young's only negative is his top end speed from what I have seen. Young can catch the ball and make a move but again is his acceleration after a catch and top speed enough to make the pros.

He is certainly good enough to be a starter at a lot of FBS D1 type schools

I noticed ISM's block right away when the play happened. Like the narrator says, he didn't totally defeat the defender, but occupied him long enough to let a player with Goodson's talent do what he needed to do, which in this case was drive a shoulder into him.

As for Goodson's injury, has anyone said what it was he hurt. He had a first down run in the fourth quarter where he had the line to gain, but decided to spin on the defender. I was screaming for him to just get the first down. Not only did the defender not fall for the spin move and not only did Goodson not move the chains, I also wonder if that was the play he tweaked something on.

This is absolute insanity unless you're talking arena ball. Like how do you even dream up something like that?

I know every fan base has their homers, but good lord man...think about what you type before you hit "Post." Sargent is a serviceable RB, but hes 183rd in the country in YPC and 21st out of 32 Big Ten players who have at least 6 carries per game.

Come on man, the XFL could use him!!!

Sargeant should be a third down back at the most right now barring injuries. His running style is not great and his hands do not set him apart from either Young or Goodson.

I mentioned in another thread what about getting Young and Goodson in the backfield thereto more often? Young was at the fullback position a few times earlier this year but alas, same as always the creativity gets shelved once we hit league play unless our backs are against the wal

I've read where Sargeat has said he has NFL aspirations. Do I think he can do it, of course not. But doesn't he have a child now? That means making some money might be the impetus.

James Butler was sort of similar. He got a shot with the RAiders and last I knew was playing in the CFL, maybe the CFL is Sargeant's ticket.

And, we shouldn't forget Freddy Russell. He should've stayed that last year.
