Good News!

I wouldn't count this one in quite yet. Iowa is still a very long ways from home and I'm sure other Big East schools will be going after him hard. Iowa will at least get a look.

I dont see why Big East schools would go after him hard, well i do but not now, he didnt have anything from them prior to comitting to Siena, the only hype he has is from Iowa.

From what I read St Johns wanted him and he turned them down to go to Siena. Just hope that he isn't interested in them now that they have Lavin.

But i dont think they ever actually offered, they just showed interest. Also i believe Basabe is like Larson/Brust with Lick and had a good connection with Fran/Andrew thus why he wanted out of his LOI only difference between them is Lick doesnt have a job and Fran does. If I were betting i would bet he is more likely to sign with Iowa than to sign elsewhere. just my opinion.

Won't replace Larson, but will fill Fuller's spot in my opinion. Let's not count Brust and Larson out until they sign else where. We need to get rid of all the negative stuff IMO.
 
They are bitter over there. Hopefully Basabe ends up here looks like he is getting looks from other big 6 conference schools.

Basabe, from Glen Cove, soon could be joining Fran McCaffery at Iowa, which already has come forward with a scholarship offer, St. Mark’s coach David Lubick said.
“He will visit (Iowa) soon,â€￾ Lubick wrote in an e-mail.
One of the highest-rated recruits ever to sign at Siena, Basabe now seems bound for a higher level. Texas, Boston College and Indiana also have shown interest, Lubick said.

I read that he chose sienna over other options because one of his highest priorities was playing time. I can't see very many big time schools offering the playing time opportunity that Iowa can give him.
