Good FB Practice tidbits

Kirskey better be good in coverage he's tiny. The dude is listed under 200 pounds. To give you an idea Tyler Sash played around 205-210.

I like what I read about Lowery and Hyde in there. I think the secondary is going to be VERY good, provided they stay healthy.

KSU LB Josh Buhl was 6-0/210 as a senior. Smaller cat, but a real good linebacker. All American

Quite a difference between that and what Kirksey is listed at (6'2" 195 lbs). Relying on a sophomore that is as undersized as Kirksey is also a lot different than having an experienced senior that is undersized.

Well to start with Hitchens & Kirksey are both listed at 215 on the rival’s site. Which is about as official as it gets out of our Football department and experience has lead me to believe they are more likely to list them light than heavy?! So with that said they’ll play in the 225 range this year I’d guess.

More importantly Dibona had some very nice moments last year and is already 230, so if (and that’s a big “if”) he gets beat out it will be because they are more than capable of holding their own on the playing field.

Chad.

Based upon what I was told I am led to believe that the coaches are telling Copper he will play this fall most likely. Also the observer's take was the DL will play more players this fall than what we are used to seeing.

If he can catch the ball on punts and kickoffs, watch out for at least a 4 year starter on returns. This kid has something to prove and will show it in fall practice.

For kick returns Keenan has the most experience taking over for DJK, I see him locking down that position.

Punt returns on the other hand, Canzeri could push for playing time seeing how Colin graduated. IMO I think Canzeri would fit better taking punt returns then McNutt. With that shiftiness and 4.37 speed hes going to be hard to stop.

for gosh sakes...if the kid has this kind of explosiveness...PLAY HIM on kickoffs/punts rather than risk injury to one of your top WRs. I hope KFz is over this "wait and see" thing with young talent.
