Yep...the offense was an unmitigated disaster....but the defense is porous to say the least....get burned through the air one week....than thumped on the ground the next.
At least everyone is in agreement the offense stinks...but the fact some are still acting like this is a “strong” defense is a joke. They’re marginally better than this offense.
And don’t even get me started on special teams or the joke of a men’s basketball team....when is opening day in wrigley....

Ugh.
I had forgotten about that 3rd and 2 play. Total head-up-ass to even try to run that after you see the way NW lines up. Had absolutely no chance.

I would like to see more views of the mildcat fumble before the first td. It sure looked like a fumble at game speed. These incompetent refs should at least have reviewed the play. If they get that play correct this game changes completely. The hosts of the locked on Hawkeyes podcast said that they got some more views of the plays, and to them it was also an obvious fumble. Also note that Iowa got the recovery, so it would have been Iowa’s ball. The same thing happened against the bad-gers when AJ hit thier QB before halftime. There should be a policy that all potential turnovers get an automatic review. Failure to call fumbles correctly could have cost Iowa 2 wins.
