I flew to 2 Iowa road games this year the morning of. Not concerned

Good for you, but Southern California air traffic is a different animal then most Midwestern airports.

Leaving early the 31st from Minneapolis and flying to Denver then Vegas. Renting a car in Vegas and driving to LA that day. Spending the night in LA on NYE so we're close for the game, and then driving back to Vegas and spending the next 3 nights there banging hookers, doing blow and losing the house on craps.

Reminds me of a joke I heard years ago:

Friday afternoon. Guy hears his co-worker is heading to Vegas. So, he hands him $200 and says, "Here, take this. See what you can do for me"

I am one for pinching a penny, and I wasn't gonna let this opportunity pass me by, so me and my 16 yr old are off to the rose.

So far, I am flying into vegas on new years eve, got a car rented, and will drive to barstow, CA. (No NYE fun in Vegas, I know). Probably get there at 3AM, crash for a few, then get up early and drive the 3 hours or whatever to Pasadena.

So far, plane tix were $600, car $170, one night hotel, $40.

Haven't got my tix and other accomodations yet, but I think i am doing good so far.

Flying back the 6th, am gonna hang around a few days have some fun. Maybe swing back thru Vegas for the last night before flying back.

Sounds like its going to be a awesome trip. If I could afford to go to Pasadena to watch the Hawks play in the Grand Daddy of them all Rose Bowl, I would sleep in the car, and be happy about it! My wife would kill me if I try to go to another game this season. I drove up twice from TN to watch the Hawks play, and went to Gainesville to watch the Vols play. Come out cheap in Iowa though, i got to stay with family. Lol. Hope you and I'm guessing your son, have a awesome and GOD willing safe trip out west. Good Luck & Go Hawks!
