GoHawks.com

First of all the captains for the website this week will be Tim Gunderson with IT and Scott Crank from the BestBuy Geek Squad. Website never really got going. We need to get better on our C++ and graphics design but hey, thats website design. We'll clean some things up this week maybe install a new HDD if we need to.

Winner of the internet.

Greg Davis is the project manager of gohawks.com and this is why progress is not being made.

Never mind, took a visit. No big bargain for a 50+-year old, but I guess recruits and their parents can glean some good info.

That's the point of the site. Gohawks.com bounces you to iowahawkeyefootballrecruits.com

It's a recruiting tool.

Exactly. I thinks a really good introduction to recruits that may not know the lineage and reputation that we here all know about.

I also thought the layout and the way the info is presented is pretty neat.

Hopefully the people in charge of it don't let it get so far behind/outdated.

And...had someone said, among the first 20 posts or so, that it was a "recruit" site, I wouldn't have wasted those 3 minutes of my life that I can never get back...

Love reading about the glory days of the Atlanta Hawks, going all the way back to Dominique Wilkins dunks and an amazing three trips to the Conference Semifinals in the mid-nineties. That was an era of excellence unmatched by any other franchise in sports. Thanks for the reminder.

I like the site, but wonder, how well the Heartland messaging will resonate with kids in the inner city.

Or recruits in general. I get the idea of trying to be true to yourself, but telling recruits that "young people" are abandoning the major trade of the state isn't necessarily a great selling point. I doubt UM is touting the loss of manufacturing jobs in their state. The only reason I can see for including that narrative is perhaps to make an emotional appeal for Iowa kids to stay in-state.
