God, I hope the team shows up on Friday

It has been soo long since we have played Nebby and I pray to god that we make a good game out of it. Lincoln will probably be more hostile than Beaver Stadium and this team needs to play inspired and hard throughout the game. If we get down early like we did against MSU it could be bad. I am very nervous and in all honesty has the D come up with an identity yet? We need to get to the QB and maybe throw a couple of blitzes per drive a TMartinez, I have been picturing it already, we will get some pressure on him and he will scramble out of the pocket and rush for a 1st down or he will scramble around and Prater will drop his coverage on a receiver and Tmart will throw a complete duck that will somehow be caught for 40 yds by a Nebby reciever. Oh God. Im going crazy :rolleyes: Don't even ask me how we stop Burkhead our run D is absolutely horrid. Please Hawks I beg you, play fast, hard, and go out for blood. Oh Yea and don't allow nearly 80% of all their 3rd downs to be converted like everyone else this year.But I do see a big game for Coker. And JVB is JVB, won't put us in bad situations. Sorry for ranting :D
 
I always want nebraska to win, but more so when they were playing ISU. I didnt want to deal with the Scoreboard for an entire year. If we lost to Iowa and no one rubbed it in my face it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but that ain't gonna happen.

If it does, rumor is Bo Po is a goner. I guess 8-4 seasons aren't acceptable at Big Red? :D
 
i like our chances if we can stop burkhead. t-mart doesn't have the accuracy to hurt us like most spread QBs do to us. i don't like our chances if they get the running game going.

also, no way they get rid of Bo, unless he does something stupid. granted, nebby fans are even more unreasonable than iowa fans about expectations, but that would be over the top, even for them.
 
Even though I picked us to beat Purdue against part of me saying we wouldn't, I don't see us beating Nebby. It's one thing to get a road win against Purdue, not a full stadium, and decent amount of Iowa fans. We threw away so many chances that game that has a team with 2 bad QBs.

While Taylor can't pass better than half of the B1G, he/they can run much better than Purdue. They have much more talent as well. I think we lose this game and I'm like the original poster in hoping that we make it competitive.
 
I dont think they fire bo, Even if he loses the next 2. Now if he does that next year also there going to be asking questions.
 
The team will show up alright, the question will the coaches show up with the right game plan. I am not worried about our defense it is the offense that loses the games for us and always has. There has to be variety of offensive pass formations otherwise I believe there is little chance that we will beat them straight up.

I like the fact KF brought up bowl game prep in his talk. Hawks show up for bowls, so hopefully they'll give a good effort Friday, even with the short week.
 
If we lose, it's going to be a really long weekend. We'll be in Western Iowa with my inlaws (some of whom are Huskers).

I'm really hoping Vandy is on fire, the receivers have superglue on their hands and our defense has a fire in their belly. It's our only hope on the road.
