Getting mad at national coverage

They also interview WHITE chocolate Thunder (my name for Aaron) and stated that he was probably happy ISU lost and Aaron laughed and said he wouldn't say that because he has friends over there. White said he and his team mates feel the B1G is the best conference in college basketball.

FWIW, very nice story in today's New York Times. I'll link the first few grafs ... follow the link for the rest.

Iowa's Height Shuts Down Davidson's 3-Point Game

SEATTLE — Time and again Friday night, one of Davidson’s guards — Jack Gibbs, perhaps, or Brian Sullivan, each 5 feet 11 inches — took the ball down the court and was met by a humid jungle of arms. Iowa’s lengthy, lithe forwards were outstretched, blocking passing lanes, ready to put a hand in the Davidson player’s face.
“Hands up! Hands up!†Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery yelled to his players as they got back on defense.
It was, for Iowa, a mismatch made in heaven. One of the tallest teams, it was playing an average-size team that got more than 40 percent of its points from 3-pointers, according to the statistics siteKenPom.com. With Iowa’s length, it found a natural way to prevent Davidson from doing what Davidson wanted to do.
That was a big reason that the game, which ended in an 83-52 Iowa victory, was never particularly close. The other main reason was that Iowa played beautiful offense: It moved the ball, did not waste time, cut expertly and, when all else failed, had players creating scoring chances for themselves. As a team, the Hawkeyes shot 50.7 percent from the field....

It just turned out to be a mismatch. Iowa did what they should have done against a smaller team like that. They killed them on the boards and played smart basketball. They got good looks within the offense and knocked them down. Even if White didn't play out of his mind Iowa should beat that team 8 out of 10 times. If Iowa can defend and rebound like that it will keep them in the game. And if the national media wants to say it was more of an off day by Davidson rather then our D causing it then so be it. There's no changing opinions on that till they see us do it again. If Iowa holds Gonzaga to under 65 pts I think we win. Simple as that.

They did miss a TON of wide open looks. Some games you just can't buy a bucket. We have had many of those games...and others where we can't miss.

It was a 7-10 game, meaing there was no national power playing. It was a blowout, meaning there wasn't a buzzer beater to show. There were 16 games yesterday they could show. From the outside, it was not an interesting game...and I'm fine with the way it turned out.

^^This^^

Newspapers and other media are already viewership. They won't get it back with "7-seed thumps 10-seed".
