Gessell vs. Marble

Wow. That was Vintage MG. You have to give the kid credit though, most guys who have had their shot swatted as much as he has would stay far away from the lane, but he keeps going in there.

The sad part is that in four years he never learned how to use the rim to protect from shot blockers or to use his left hand for that matter. That block at the end of the OSU game last year was a perfect example.

What's holding Marble back from the NBA? He seems athletic enough with the size to be there. Is he just that poor of a shooter? Too inconsistent I suppose. Seemed like when he's on he's pretty darn good. I know he had a cup of coffee with the Magic (a really bad team) but just couldn't stick. He's still young so maybe he can get back

That swat is unreal. Hah. I looked at his stats (Gessell's) and he's putting up big numbers, albeit in the danish league.

I think Marble's ship has probably sailed. How many players do you know that come back from the euroleague's to have an NBA career?

NBA ship has probably sailed for him. But a guy can have a damned nice career playing in Europe, making decent coin and seeing the world. I'm happy for him and all the guys that get to do that.

You bet he can have a damned nice career playing in Europe. Marble has a base salary of just over €500K this year and has incentives that could get him as much as €1M....

Where do you see their salaries at?

Not sure now. I did a search and it showed some players' salaries. It did show Marble's. His last year in the NBA he had a salary of around $850K; would have received over $900K if he had stuck this year.

Couldn't find anything on Gesell's, but he is starting for his club.

Where does the Danish league come up with this type of money? Their gyms look puny.

Are you familiar with advertising? :)
