Gessell + Clemmons

Maybe we should get our 4* recruits from IL, MI, etc. rather than from the Sioux City metro area.

I know, I'm posting because I'm ticked off from the game, but I'm starting to think these guys were overrated in HS. Not all 4* recruits are created equal (playing different levels of competition, etc.) IMO.

4 star for iowa maybe, but not certainly for the country

I give recruits from the state of Iowa a one star reduction because they just aren't playing good competition. In Mike's and Adam's case, I would have reduced them by 2...I think that's about right.

That is bull shut! These guys play on AAU teams year round and travel the country playing tournaments. Woody won MVP at a big NIKE camp with some of the best bigs in attendance. Now how the hell he won it,I don't know.
the problem is they just have not lived up to their rankings.

What exactly is "calling out?" If a guy has one of the worse games in Iowa history are you really not supposed to mention him by name?

I will say the same thing about Clemmons that I did about Woodbury in the other thread.

Clemmons had a bad game yesterday. What is interesting is that so many posters are suggesting he can't play, brings nothing to the team, etc. If this is the case then it's strange to me that we won 6 in a row when he was engaged and playing well and the team looked horrible when he had his worst game in quite awhile.

How does gesell get the crap end here? Clemmons, I get it. Woodbury, I get it. Jok, I get it. But gesell didn't play bad. Did he play great, no. But I saw only three players look decent to good...gesell and Uthoff and white. Then you had bad games...olaseni, Ogelsby. And terrible games...Woody, clemmons, jok.

Jok gets a pass because he was rated really high as a freshman in high school.
