Gesell

Well I have been behind MG and praising him since Jan of his freshman year. He has always done a lot of things well. He can get you 5-6 boards if you ask him to get in the lane and bound, he can change his dribble to make angles to pass the ball and set up his mates, he is streaky with shooting and he would be really top notch if he could shoot a little better and more consistently.

Decent defender, above avg, doesnt turn it over a lot.

I mentioned in a thread a month ago that he needed to take one more stride or whatever to explode and get to the rim instead of shooting floaters, he has really good ups so he can get there.

I have been a Gesell fan since Day 1. The kid is a gamer.

I expected more from Woodbury. He is still making freshman-like turnovers and getting shots blocked by guys a foot shorter than him.

Woodbury has been alright. His offense has never been great, but there's still time for that to come around. His defense has been excellent, and he's still a great post passer and screener (watch the Minnesota game again; he set a couple nice screens to free up shooters for buckets, including a 3 in the corner from Gesell, I believe). He really is undervalued by the fans.

Maybe, but it's also the truth. A four star pg averaging 7 ppg on less than 40% shooting as a junior is not someone who has lived up to his hype.

It's best not to present facts when discounting the zealots empty praise. Gets their panties in a real jumble.

Gesell is the best we got at PG, which ain't saying much, but it's time to bench Clemmons for good and give Dickerson some run to see what he can do.

AC might literally be the worse guard I have ever seen at Iowa. Worse than Kevin Smith, Troy Skinner.......you name it. 35% from the field as a Junior with an almost 1-1 assist-to-turnover margin which is putrid for a PG.

Yep, MG only looks good by comparison to other pgs on the roster. He was recruited as a guy who could be a 15 ppg all B10 type of player, he's been a huge let down to put it nicely.
