Gesell and Woodbury

Woodbury took home MVP honors at the NBA Top 100 camp. If he is waiting on offers from Kansas and Carolina I;d suspect they are on their way. He may be gone.

Im surprised that people are so confident that we land Gessel, not just singling you out BigD.

He grew up and attends high school in Nebraska and I have never even heard a mention that he grew up a Hawk fan.

I hope everybody is right though because he looks like a great player.

I guess it's one of those gut feeling type of things. Plus just Fran's body language the times that he has talked about the guard position. I won't even pretend to have insider info. Hubbard would be a great mentor for Gessel his freshman year and help to prepare Gessel for his sophomore season. Fran just seems cool as a cucumber and not expressing serious concerns over the guard position when looking down the road. It's as though he already knows someone is in the bank or at least he feels that someone is.

True, but Hubbard is what 7/8 years older than him? He can teach him a lot of things that could help him on the court and off.

I can't wait til you are coaching the Hawks. Based on all the incredible knowledge you have showed in your posts, you would be king.

Um, seems like Hub might be an ideal mentor for a kid who was coming from a similar environment who had experienced similar family and social structures. But again, Gesell?

We know Hubbard's story. We have high hopes he will be a strong contributor and a great teammate. But let's let the guy get on campus, start taking some classes and play a couple of games before we start applying that kind of pressure.
