Look, we can debate QBs and probably should. Sunshine clearly has a better arm but Riddick has shown, when forced into it, that he can throw downfield with some quanta of efficacy.

Riddick though less gifted can probably be effective if allowed to play the position with some urgency.

But Gerg...oh Gerg. Here's a little friendly advice from Kurt's predecessor: SCRATCH WHERE IT MFKIN ITCHES. Fool. Really, it took this overpaid sap 2 1/2 quarters to figure out he could throw on them with decent effect?! REALLY???

As for philomena and his soul crushing 3rd and long D, well, we should prolly explore that masochistic abuse in another thread.

I am in agreement. Feel for our boys that the coaches do not give them a full shot to win.
WI could not stop our pass game 2nd half. Carved them up like T'Giving turkey.
Hawks do 4 qtrs of that, and who knows what would have happened?

Hiring Davis and going away from pro-style playaction was a disaster. A lot of people called for dumping KOK for a spread-type system, and we have spent 3 seasons reaping those rewards.

We held Wisconsin to their second lowest point total all year. Yes the 3rd and longs killed us, but 26 against that team isn't bad. Scoring 3 in the first half lost the game. Be it Davis play calling or be it KF play calling, it's still on KF. He said it in his post game comments. They wanted to try and run the ball. We actually have weapons at WR and TE this year, but we are going to try and run the ball with a FB as our tailback. Brilliant!

Actually, the 2nd half reminded me of watching a Colt McCoy Texas team. I'm pretty sure there's only one person to blame for the first half, and that's KF. The play calling was something he would dictate for the 25 or so scripted plays to a T.

When davis came in we started doing the option pass routes. I personally hate them. I understand there effectness in nfl, but it really almost requires two pros to be on the right page. And you saw this being ugly two or three times where no one was in ten yards of pass.

Just makes it harder for anticipation when you have to worry about pass rush.

I've been saying this bince the first few Davis games. It is too complicated for a college offense because you just don't have enough time to practice it and the players turn over more than in the NFL. JVB's drop off in production when Davis came in should have been a sign to all that we needed to go another direction at OC.

Gotta give credit to Wisconsin, they made two great plays on third down and long. On one, Lomax just made the wrong read and got toasted. That will happen, but I'm not sure why he even bothered to think he needed to blitz because he had a 0% chance of getting to the QB and should have been on Gordon like glue. On the 3rd and 8, Wisconsin ran our defense off and Stave made a nice read and run. Jake did the same and kept drives alive. That just happens on defense, especially at the collegiate level. The defense played well enough for us to win the game, though a take away or a key 3rd and long stop would have been great. That is where we really missed the experience we had at LB last year.
