Gatens takes 8 pre-draft visits to NBA teams

Some of you thinking Gatens could play in the NBA are just out of touch with reality.

He shot 37% from three for his career.

He would need to shoot the way he did against Wisconsin in Carver every single night to get a sniff as a last guy on a roster in the NBA.

NBA rosters are becoming mostly full of guys who were to good to even play more than a year in college and then at the end of the bench are the guys who were dominant multi year players in college. Its a totally different world.

That actually surprises me. Without having looked I would have guessed him to a 30 - 32% career guy.

Woah slow down there. Hornaceck was an all star and Hoiberg was a much better athlete than Gatens and a better shooter. Just b/c they are white doesn't mean they are the same player.

Hoiberg was not a "much better athlete" later in his career than Gatens is now --a better shooter, yes. That is why I said in my post that it all depends on Matt's shot.

Haluska's overall game > Gaten's overall game.... Haluska barely had enough ability to get drafted.

Yes he did. Gatens had a 3 game stretch where he went 19-26...73%. Really helps the season average.

Hoiber could get up and finish above the rim in traffic in college and was also a much better shooter and all around player.
