Hope he gets the call. From article:

Gatens, an Iowa City native, signed with Phoenix to play on the Suns’ summer-league roster and averaged 6.3 points while playing in three of the team’s five games. Against Dallas he scored 13 points while hitting three 3-pointers in nine minutes.

“Hopefully in the next couple of days I’ll have a good idea of what’s going to happen,â€￾ Gatens said Tuesday night. “I left on good terms. They (the Suns) appreciate everything I did, and they kind of said we’ll be in touch with your agents and like that. A lot is still up in the air, but hopefully we’ll have some clarity in the next couple of days.â€￾

“There’s enough positives both ways whatever happens,â€￾ he said. “If I go over there (overseas), it’s a great chance to see the world and play basketball and have some fun. We’ll see.â€￾

I hope he gets the NBA shot now, but I doubt it. Perhaps if he goes overseas and consistently lights it up for a few years, he could get another shot.

I agree completely.

Is he chasing the bigger money over seas for awhile or does he think it's his best shot at playing time and a shot to get noticed as compared to the D league? I wonder what agents and nba scouts would suggest if they'd be split on that or not

Players can make some very good money playing over seas. I read an article about Keith Langford from KU and he basically accepted the fact he wasn't going to make it in the NBA and decided to make a career overseas and has made millions of dollars

Well yea being a starter over seas in one of the good leagues is great money compared to being the 12th man in the nba let alone D league money. My uncle coached Hurl Beachum in football at North. He had a long career over seas too.
