They're totally right. There is an inherent conflict any time you have some AD or conference commissioner involved in these selections. Indiana has been absolutely screwed this year. Imagine beating Michigan, PSU, MSU and Wisconsin and losing by 7 to #4 OSU and being ranked fucking 12th. That is a slap in the face.

Geez, so you mean that a teams history of football success may have some bearing on the committee members rankings. Tell me it ain't so. Indiana's getting no respect, because they haven't earned any respect. Do I wish that the committee could truly rely on what they see each year, yes...do they...no. If Indiana had a history of competing for championships in the B10...they would not be 12.

Example...Penn State is not a good football team...and I'm not sure they deserved a top ten ranking to start the year...and they didn't...but it's Penn State right? Michigan? Right.

why in the hell is ISU getting any respect? Indiana and Cincinnati should both be ranked ahead of ISU in the playoff rankings. Indiana lost a close game to OSU on the road. ISU lost to a turd school at home by 17. Cin. has 0 losses. Indian has one. ISU other loss was to OSU who has turned out to suck.

It's actually good for football long term, though. It's stupid shit like this that will expedite the 8 team playoff model.

Well ISU has a chance to prove they are #7 or 8 if they can beat OU again.

Is Indiana's non-climb into the top ten more a function of Penix getting injured for the year? I think with Penix last week IU beats wisky maybe 28-7.

The new QB is really good and has another 10 days before his next game. I would love to see the hawks against that offense. They throw a lot of jump balls so what a test. go hawks beat wisky.

Shoulda been that from the git go... I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. It's the perfect amount. You get more then that it turns into the NCAA tourny. No 16 seed has a legit chance of winning. Well neither would the 12th-13th best team in football. Quit Fn around and go to 8 like they shoulda from the start. I know they have some long contract for it being 4 games but for crying out loud how many deals and contracts have been torn up this year already? What's one more?

I'm glad I'm not an Indiana fan that's all I know. They picked the wrong year to be good...

I am not just saying this as a Big Ten homer, but the Big 12 is a disaster, arguably no better than the AAC. Recruiting rankings paint an ugly future for the league as well.

Clones are a solid team, but how they end up at 7 and Indiana 12 is a headscratcher.

Indiana looks good. But they're not getting screwed. I hope that Iowa plays IU and whips their ass.

I'd think it be a slap in the face if beating Michigan, PSU, and MSU meant anything this year. Unfortunately they've played two (giving Wiscy the benefit of the doubt) solid programs and three teams that opted out this season without telling anyone they opted out. On paper, most years would have survived murders row with those results, but this year playing PSU, Michigan, and MSU has the feeling of 3 games against Nebby this year.

I'm just not sure Indiana is really that good, particularly with their QB out for the season. They beat Penn State on a very controversial play. Yes, they beat Wisconsin, but Wisconsin has been riddled by COVID and injuries. I'm not sold on Ohio State, either. I guess we will find out about Ohio State in the playoffs.

I don't really understand the love for Iowa State either. Yes, good team, but #7? I think Iowa would beat them handily right now.

Just my two cents.

Like it or not. The CFP members do not erase their memories at the start of each year. If schools like Bama and Clemson and Ohio State have been consistently great for a decade, that is going to lead to members starting from an assumption that what they see out of them is real and should be rewarded. Indiana does not have that going for them. Maybe its not fair, but it is what it is.

They can show their meddle against Iowa next weekend.
