Gameday @ Iowa

This year we have a really good chance of getting ESPN Gameday to come to Iowa City. The Wisconsin game is our lone chance and the other games that week are not exciting matchups. The only other game that could get Gameday ahead of us is USC @ UCLA. As long as we are at least 9-1 or 8-2 and Wisconsin is 9-1 or 8-2 (both very likely) we should get gameday.

List of games that week:

As long as USC and UCLA are good (which is what is projected by many of the football "geniuses"), the USC/UCLA will be the far sexier pick.

We'll have to hope that USC and UCLA stumble a little bit. I agree if both of them only have a loss or two they'd probably get it.

We will know like 3 to 4 weeks in advance, but usc/ucla is a big rivalry, plus both are expeted to be good, and winner could possibly be in the pac 12 champ. Game. That is by far sexier than iowa/wisky. However, if the iowa/wisky game is for the B1G west, and both are undefeated or one or the other has one loss, I could see game day looking at Iowa city. In 2006 they were surprised and impressed at the turnout and excitment of fans, so that's a plus. But doesnt the game have to be at night and on ABC for gameday to cover it?

Usually it has to be a nite game or at least 2:30 because herbstreit is in the booth.

If Iowa and Wisconsin are both 9-1 going into that game it might not be primetime but will be 2:30 and should warrant Gameday because it will be for the West title. With that said another game is Oklahoma St at Baylor. With the new stadium I could also see them going to Baylor as well.

I would cry tears of joy. I would be down at Hubbard park very early that morning and stumbling down to Kinnick later that day.

Great time leading up to the game in 06, the beat down that ensued in Kinnick was rough. I still remember a guy at our tailgate filling a bottle full of urine and helicoptering that thing all over a group of buckeyes. Lol, what a day...

Hope the buckeye fans beat the dog poop out of the urine flinging idiot!

Iowa doesn't have the schedule to get gameday. Not any fault of their own, but the fire power of a Ohio State just isn't there.

Strength of schedule has nothing to do with Gameday going somewhere. Again if Iowa and Wisconsin are both 9-1 and ranked in the top 10 with the West title on the line there is a very good chance they come to IC. There aren't a lot of other compelling options that Saturday.
