During Iowa's 3-game losing streak, it’s rushed 97 times for 317 yards (3.3 YPC). On the season, it’s averaging 3.8 YPC, which ranks 12th in B1G. Illini 14th in B1G against run:

I know a lot of people have given up on this team. BUT NOT ME!!!!

The Hawks are going to serve some PAIN CAKES on the field in Champaign this Saturday!
 


Illinois cannot pass. We need run stoppers in this game and obviously someone has to key on the QB.

Maybe a return to 3 LBs and move Hooker back to safety?

Do we see Amani Jones at MLB at some point?
 


Damn I hope they can get a win. They need it badly but I'll believe when I see it. I were a betting man I'd say its going to be a very tight, very difficult game to watch for Iowa fans (think @Indiana 2010) in which the team that makes the last big mistake, loses.
 


Iowa will get the running game going against IL... but so what? IL's defense is turrible. It will prove nothing.

As soon as the Hawks face a defense with a pulse, they'll be right back to 3yds/carry.:(

I don't think Jones is listed in the two deeps anymore.

It's a pretty crowded doghouse this year.
 


From Tuesday's press conference:

Q. How about Amani Jones? The guy kind of lost his job in the first quarter of the first game, but you thought he would be a factor all year. How was his progression and would you think about putting him back out there?

KIRK FERENTZ: It's possible. He's kind of more of a situational type guy, if you will. I think we're dealing with that the right way right now. We've really encouraged him to just embody the special teams role that he has, and he's done a great job with that. His attitude has been great. He's practicing really well out there and really bringing a lot of energy, which that's just his nature. I think we're in the right spot with him, and then we'll just figure that out later, but right now his main role is just to help us on special teams and give us some energy out there.
