They won.
Boring game. And I am all for smashmouth run the ball football, but this was unexciting football.
45 yards passing
a punishing defensive line
a susceptible secondary
a serviceable or even good offensive line
a good runningback (or 3 in this case)
a great special teams
It feels like I have seen this before. I feel like I have been thinking "next week" they'll finally put it together and rattle off a 250 yard game in the air with a buck fitty on the ground.
That's gonna happen right?

My kid is a senior actuarial science major at Iowa. So, I've learned a lot about statistics and data sets from him.
The data set in this case says otherwise.
I'm going to choose to be a pessimist this year. It will be more of the same. But more painful because of the new conference opponents and no easy ass big ten west.
this way, if something magical happens, it will be a pleasant surprise. If it doesn't...this year...Im gonna be ready for it.

Your not kidding about Blood Meriden. One of the most violent, if not the most violent book I've ever read. It was a very good book though.

Agree pretty much with your post. Although I think our DL is overrated. We’re a disappointment last year and to start this year against undoubtedly the worst OL they will face didn’t dominate not sure how many sacks. Maybe 1 or 2. Albany had 50 new players and is picked last in a poor conference
LBs are pretty pedestrian. I look for a couple of young kids to play soon. Secondary is suspect Clones QB should have field day
Gronowski was bad. Don’t think he completed a pass over 5 yards. When he tried to throw down field a bit he missed badly. Some posters warned us after his performance at kids day. What is it with Iowaand QBs. Can’t recruit or develop
We still have good special teams. Parker is a very good DC but I don’t think this is going to be one of his better defenses
Teams are going to load up to stop run. Where have you seen that before?
Only chance to keep it close is ball control and blitz the hell out of them
