Gabe

Geez, how can you say Gabe was horrible? He played a VERY solid game. Hence, Fran played him a solid 6 straight minutes in the first half. His baseline jumper gave us a real lift.

He had 1 bad play: giving up the spin move that resulted in the AND1. Besides that, he was a contributor. His length (© Jay Bilas) is fantastic: when he helped force Northern Iowa to call timeout on the sideline, he looked like a condor.

Gabe did his usual thing of looking good defensively on one posession (he did a nice job on Tuttle -- once) then getting out of position and leaving his feet, looking completely confused, on the next three.

He'll be a nice backup as a senior, but he really could have used a redshirt.

Gabe came off the bench and contributed, Josh O and Gabe both came off the bench and helped today. Our guards dominated and their post players outplayed ours. Thank goodness Aaron decided to contribute a big 3 late, other than a few block shots and some good boards he struggled today.

was horrible today from what I could tell. I didnt see the boxscore, but how'd he do compared to Woodbury?

I am trying to figure you out...are you a troll or a tool?

Gabe came in and gave some good minutes in the first half, looked poor in the second, but for a guy with as little playing time and experience, I have zero issues with how he played today. Whoever said he needed a redshirt is correct, still not sure why he wasn't, given Meyer got one this year. I think we will look back and wish Ingram had one as well, but hey the staff is in charge and given the results, I trust their judgement.

I thought he played ok. Has he had a better game? That's about as good as he's looked so far I'd say. Not that it was great or anything but he's far from a finished product. Of all the Hawks today he's not the one I'd pick on. I'd say Woodbury and Clemmons and even White to a degree had tough games. It was the Marble and Gessel show out there and if they chop their turnovers down and make free throws better it's a game they shoulda won by 15 or more going away

Gabe was 2-3 for 4 pts, 4 rbs and 2 blocks with 0 to's
Woodbury was 0-3 1-2 from the FT line for 1 point , 3 rbs, 2 TO's 0 blks
his last game in 11 minutes had 8 pts, 9 rbs and 2 blocks with O TO's
on 3-4 from the field and 2-2 from the ft line
but according to ghost all he will get is garbage minutes

bb boy from what I can tell without watching the game or checking th box score your post is HORRIBLE!!! I mean CXharles Barkley sort of HORRIBLE or is is TERRIBLE.

You know nothing. As the intelliget redwak55 mentioned earlier he scored, rebounded and blocked shots in the first half. He was TERRIFIC.

Gabe helped Iowa win the first half and the ball game.

bb boy on the other hand knows nothing but thanks for th OP so we can blast you with facts, truth and
insightful analysis!!!

another thing is Gabe had 12 minutes to Wodbury's 9 minutes
the nice thing is he came in when Iowa was vup by 2 and it expanded to 10, nice dunk and a nice 8 ft jump shot

Why are you cutting Gabe short??? That was at least a 12 foot J

Wait, I thought Fran had given up on gabe and he wasn't going to see any meaningful minutes the rest of his career? Ghost?

I think we need to bench Woodbury. gabe is bringing his practice performance onto the court now, and there isn't room for both of them. Wish they would have red shirted Adam this year.
