GA RB Tyler Goodson Believes He Can Fill Wadley Role in Iowa Offense

Goodson is only 5 lbs lighter than Brock but seems to have quicker change of direction and a little better burst. Brock has an angrier running style, but it may not translate well to college where the linebackers are 30 lbs heavier. I like this commit a lot!

The day of riding one RB an entire game, or season, for that matter, is ancient history. I think 3 RB's getting significant playing time is either in the works or here already in some programs. The life span of an RB in the NFL is truly Not For Long.

Every program has its foibles but I think it is quite clear that KF and company does not intentionally recruit people of questionable character.

Maybe my gray hair is taking over but give me a program that yes - may win less than others but they do it with solid people you would feel comfortable with having in your home for pot roast on any given Sunday.

For me it's not just if you win but how.

So here's a "would-you-rather" story - consistent championship level play which could/would mean wrestling with pigs and getting a bit "dirty" or continuing as is and developing boys to be men in a physical and emotional way and preparing them for the post football world? (Facts are facts that a very small percentage of players play beyond their college days.)

I know, I'm dating myself. Sed was something special.

I remember sitting next to him in whatever the geology 101 class was for freshman. I don’t remember anymore, it was fall 1994. I just know it was nicknamed “rocks for jocks.” Midterm exams come out and he looks at me and says “I got my hat low, I’m ready to go.” I replied, nervous and all “I think we got different tests, the questions aren’t the same.” He winked and said “ doesn’t matter.” That’s my 15 seconds with Sed.

This kid seems to be the perfect fit here. His attitude and character are perfect.
His ball skills? If he can pick up the blitz, our system and coaches absolutely fit his skills to a t.
I don't have anything but love for Brock, but I think when Goodson said "well I kind of like you too".
Iowa saw a star be born.

I still remember that sideline spin move he did at the Metrodome (he scored on the play).

He was durable, too. He once went 42 for 250 against Wisconsin. Very similar to the game Jordan Canzeri had against Illinois in 2015.

You probably had that class in the Chemistry Botany Building, which absolutely sweltered in early September. I had economics in that lecture hall. Brutal. Of all the places on campus to have economics lectures they picked that one.

There was a second smaller lecture hall in that building that wasn't as bad. I had lectures in there, too. Western Civilization, to name one.

It could have been. Honestly, I don’t remember. I think if I got on campus again and walked around a bit I might get my Behrings enough to remember. Then again, maybe not. That first year was pretty green, pretty often, with a lot of booze. Bad choices multiplied over and over.

I was on campus for my daughter's college visit last year (she ended up choosing UW Whitewater where she will start this fall)
Iowa was one of her final three and I was proud as a parent alum that she considered it even that much. Anyway what struck me about the campus is how it looked the same but different at the same time. The Iowa Memorial Union and surrounding area have been completely rebuilt since the 2008 flood. They're still rebuilding down in that area.

North Gwinnett is definitely a powerhouse here in Georgia. If TG is a standout on that team, he's GOOD! It's not too far from my house, so I think I'll go check him out in person... Wearing my tigerhawk hat, of course!

Nice bro. Try to get an Iowa cheer section started lol. We need more kids from that school in the future. Let's build the pipeline.

I was multiplying those bad choices well into my junior year. Like getting written up by RA's. Jumping off the Hancher footbridge. Shooting apples over the roof of Stanley Hall with a water balloon slingshot. Hitting golf balls into the Iowa River from the roof of the Hillcrest cafeteria. I didn't graduate from Iowa as much as I survived it.
