Future Hawkeye Drew Cook's Rolling thru Playoffs

There has been talk of moving up week 1 a week and only playing playoffs on Friday nights instead of Friday (last regular season game),Wednesday, Monday, Friday.

From my conversation with high school coaches, this will be the plan for next year. Start a week early. All playoff games on Friday.

As for a 2-7 team making the playoffs, welcome to district football in 4A. You have 46 team and need to fill a 32 team bracket. Actually, our team was one of the 2-7 teams that qualified......and we defeated a 7-2 team in the 1st Round of the playoffs.

That is great to hear. But what are his stats on the season? I was led to believe he was having a lackluster year. 8-10 for over 200 is solid, for sure.

His overall stats probably don't jump out at you so much...until you realize that he barely plays any 2nd half snaps. They have been up 30, 40, 50 points at halftime during the season, with Drew as a spectator during most 2nd halves. I think he played all of the Solon game, the Xavier game and maybe one other.

Cook is not going to be a significant contributor at QB for Iowa.

He just isn't.

Where does he play if not QB? Would Tight End be the only other possibility? Is he physical enough?

Would be too weird if it turns out to be another situation like Derby.

I am sure the Cook's have discussed all the different scenarios.
