A couple of hours before the Orange Bowl, fans started lining up by the back entrance to see the players get off of the buses to enter the stadium. When the teams finally showed up there was a pretty huge crowd with maybe 10 to 1 Hawk fans over Gtech fans. Many of the people were players parents (Prater, DKJ, Ballard, Edds, Angerer, Moeaki).
The best moment, by far, was when somebody shouted from the back of the crowd "Watch out...Clayborn's mom coming through."
She was trying to work her way towards the front of the crowd (like the rest of us) and was otherwise minding her own business to get a good view of the players getting off the bus.
The "announcer" was probably hammered and clearly not related to AC, but the seas parted and Mrs. Clayborn walked through the crowd to the front untouched. She was a little embarassed, but was kind of laughing and everybody started cheering for her. It was a funny, funny moment, largely because it was so spontaneous and such an obvious show of respect.
Anybody else there for this?
