Free STREAMING BTN

Wow, missed the first 3 minutes. If I were paying I'd be getting every penny back.

Stupid BTN.

So far this is a great deal. Quality is way better than past streaming in preseasons. For $14.95 for 7 games I'd do this all year long if it was not for the slightly herky jerky quality and how great HD is with the BTN. But I am saving $80+/month on Dish and still getting to watching the game. I'll turn on Dish when the season really starts though.

I tried to log in to BTN today and it redirected me to the subscription page. I emailed them and they have taken my coupon code away. They want to know how I got that code. I told them it is not a big deal just charge me the 14.95. Just be aware they may allow the code to be used today. However it may be less hassle just to pay the 14.95 now, as my account is locked until this gets figured out. Wilt I don't know where the code came from but they are scrambling, I love it.

I had the same experience as Firehawk11 when I tried to watch Tom Brands' press conference this afternoon. After sending an email, I got a reply saying the code was no longer valid, and I would have to re-subscribe (and pay full price, of course). Now, I have no problem with a company limiting the number of times a coupon can be redeemed -- it should be stated clearly up front, but even if it isn't, that's a legitimate business practice. What I object to is the invalidation of a subscription that they allowed me to sign up for successfully. As I pointed out to the BTN in my email, a store that runs out of an item that was on sale does not call up everyone who bought that item and demand that they return it to the store.

What they don't know, of course, is that I intended to continue my paid subscription at least through the wrestling season. Now, I intend to never give another penny to BTN, either directly or through a cable company. I doubt they care, because not enough people will do the same to really make an impact, but it makes me feel better.

Same thing happened to me.

i dont think that coupon code was supposed to be disseminated publicly:)

remember than you can buy the iowa-only option for $10 thru hawkeyesports.com

I seem to have the same problem.

how did you reactivate? I went through the subscription process and it says that there is an error, because that account already exists

Well this blows. As others have said, now I feel like I can't pay them just out of principle. Are people that dense that they don't understand that online codes spread online? If they didn't want everyone to use it, the should have programmed a limit. But to allow us to sign up and then cancel it is just stupid.

I'm having the same issue. I'm not sure why they would distribute a coupon code publicly and not allow it to be used.

Wow, this really sucks.

I'm with you, I'm not going to pay them out of principle. Wow, I really hate the Big Ten Network.

I understand that the Big Ten Network is just out to make as much money as possible. Totally understand and am cool with that.. but I think if they were smart enough to do it right they could actually make more money with advertising if they'd offer it free online.

Heck, ESPN3 is free. ESPN doesn't do ANYTHING except try to make money. If ESPN could make more money by offering the videos on a pay service they'd do it in a second. They're just smarter then the Big Ten Network.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The BTN is great for football and fantastic for small sports. It's terrible for men's basketball. I miss KDSM FOX 17.

I agree — no one's saying BTN doesn't have the right to make money, but offering a promotion and then revoking it is not the way to build long-term relationships.

I do wonder how ESPN3 makes most of its money. As I recall, it's only available if your Internet/cable television service is through certain companies. Makes me wonder if they get the service providers to pony up a fee as well as selling advertising.
