Well Davis probably has a chance there with the lack of receivers they have. Now if only they had a qb to throw it to him...

There has been a scout or two so far to go on record as saying Keenan's best football could still be ahead of him. I wouldn't be shocked if that's the case.

I know its every kids dream to be drafted but most times being undrafted is the better option. I like the Davis to Cleveland deal and Vandy in Minnesota if that is where he actually goes. I was really hoping Green Bay would sign Davis. He reminds me a lot of James Jones with fewer drops

Seriously, this is about the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. Every year a handful of undrafted free agents make it to a practice squad or a couple make an actual roster. It is news if someone drafted in the top 5 rounds doesn't make the squad. Now if you are talking about round 6 and above, we would have to look at actual numbers, but I bet you are still wrong.

The guys that get drafted and don't make a roster are still able to picked up for other teams' practice squads and do so at much more dramatic rates than UFAs.

What you probably meant is on the rare occasion it ends up working out better.

Here is a link to show you how misinformed your statement is:

As a Vikings fan I love that they signed Vandenberg. I know he struggled last season but I put the majority of the blame on Greg Davis, and poor WR play. That offense did not fit his style.

I don't know if he will make the Vikings but he has a shot. McCloud-Bethal Thompson is currently the #3 QB who made the team last season but was never active. I do think Vandenberg has a solid shot at making their practice squad however. Joe Webb is moving to WR and will probably get cut so Vandenberg will enter camp as the #4 QB. Obviously Ponder is the #1 and Cassel is #2.

I'll be pulling for him and it will be nice to see if he can gets some snaps in pre-season games.

ESPN.com: NFL - Teams shy away from undrafted free-agent market

I realize this is a small sample size, but here are the numbers from this year's Super Bowl rosters. It looks, at first, like the UFAs have the advantage, but when you take into consideration the percent of 6th/7th rounders that make it, compared to the UFAs, I was honestly shocked at the advantage the 6th/7th rounders had. It seems that late in the draft it might be better to pick your own situation instead of someone picking it for you.

This sample, while interesting, does nothing to further your argument. It doesn't address how many undrafted free agents there are compared to draftees.

If, for example, 150 out of 254 draftees make a roster, then you have a 59% success rate.

But if 160 out of 2,100 undrafted free agents make a roster, the success rate is only 8%.

This is obviously a much poorer chance of making a roster, even though though more total undrafted free agents made rosters than draftees.

In this hypothetical scenario "the better option" (in a correlative sense) is obviously to get drafted instead of becoming an undrafted free agent.

I suspect the truth is close to this scenario.

I don't have an argument, just providing some facts for this argument. I did state that 6th/7th rounders had an advantage, which is what you stated in your last few sentences.
