Fran's Ejection was Poetry

You will never convince me that Fran's ejection was not purposeful. It was Norman Dale in Hoosiers ("you got pigeon shit in your eyes"), but for a different purpose. Fran knew he was gone at the end of the year. He also knew the game was slipping away and that Illinois just had better horses. So, rather than meekly watch his team whither and lose, he used some magic words, more than once, and got himself tossed. Totally on purpose. Personally, I saw what he did, saw why he did it, and gave Franny a standing O in my living room. Say what you want about Fran, good or bad, but he is one F'ing authentic dude, and he went out as Iowa's coach on his own terms. Given who Fran was as Iowa's coach, it was poetic that his last act was an ejection.

He kept his hands in his pockets and stayed in the coach's box to show unequivocally that he was getting T'd up for what he said and that it was deserved. I wouldn't be surprised if he said, "I don't think you have the sack to throw me out, just like your mother last night."

Anyone know a good lipreader? (not for the second T, we all read those lips).

Can you imagine if this was KF and it was his last game and he knew it? He would go out in style too. Chomp his gum, write on his little sheet of paper and demand that his OC establish the run despite being down 35 to 9 with 3 minutes to go. Mic drop.
