1. Style of basketball will draw more fans.

2. Better coaching staff.

3. Lick was a great x and o coach but couldnt recruit, plus his style was boring,

3. Better recruiting. If Fran can bring in better athletes similar to MSU, Ohio State, and Ill. then he will own the state! Brust, Larsen, Uthoff, will all be good college players but until Fran starts bringing athletes like Michigan State and Ohio State the Hawkeyes will struggle regardless how good of coach Fran is. We need to get at least one great player per year and sprinkle in the best in state player. thoughts,

Iowa isn't going to bring in Mich St and Ohio State like classes. Not a downer but it won't happen. OSU has been bringing in top 5 classes since Matta got there. Iowa might get in the top 25 once every other year. From there Fran can coach them up and beat OSU because they have a lot of one and dones

I find it odd that you've only chosen to re-appear here in the past couple of days. Something happen to make you come back?

But according to Clone fans, ISU is now a pipeline to the NBA because of Hoiberg's "connections" and Iowa should bow down to Hoiberg because we stand no chance of competing for talent with them. Guess we should just call Hoiberg the "Non-slimeball Calapari"!

Fred = The Mayor...Fran = The Governer!!

Now you are making stuff up. Only thing that has been said is that Hoiberg makes it harder for Iowa to get in state talent. With Greg still here Iowa was going to be able to get kids easier. Hoiberg and his name alone sells in this state. Fran is an east coast guy. It will take a couple years to sell kids in the state (unless they are a Gatens type kid who grew up die hard Hawk)

Now you are being silly. I'm 29 and familiar with Fred and grew up following him but he doesn't automatically make me say "WOW!! I want to be a Cyclone now!" If there are future recruits that may be Clone fans then he won't have to sell himself much, they WILL be familiar with him but in 3 years ZERO of those recruits were alive when Fred was at ISU. Sorry but a coach that can sell me on 30 years of experience (with proof to back it up), rebuilding programs, NCAA tournament appearences (and wins), NBA draft picks and "White Magic" is more motivation than a good-looking clean-cut coach who's never called a time out as a head coach. ISU has a staff that has ZERO head coaching experience. TJ is a great recruiter but not head coach.

Cyclone fans are making me dislike Hoiberg because they are putting the world on his shoulders and praising him as the "Jesus of Iowa State University" and talking like Fran has absolutely no chance to get any in-state recruits as long as Jesus is coach at ISU.

Fred "The Mayor" Hoiberg meet Fran "The Governor" McCaffery! Fred may be the The Mayor of Ames but Fran's The Governor because he is going to run this state!!!
 
Might be a little premature to say either one will stay in office long enough to run anything. One just got hired, and the other has a lot of unfinished business to tend to after 30 days.
