Fran sure showed us

So many things in this game just make you scratch your head and wonder what the hell is going on in that coaching staffs mind. Gessel out for the finish once we go up 4, stay in the zone to let them hit 2-3's in a row in the last 1:30...wow
 
Yeah and poor Aaron White the scout is out...maybe we need to put two bigs on the floor...why not try it. Don't know final numbers but it appeared we were getting owned on the glass.
 
Fran has shown a lot he is not a good coach at all in it games and add to it he cAnt recruit. He won't be here much longer imho

I appreciate everything McCabe does for us...but I am constantly questioning why he is in at critical times. He is not a high level player and has proven himself to not be clutch. You can argue that we don't have anybody who is clutch, but I just don't understand on a team with so many other options why he is out there in those situations. And he was brutal on defense at times today as well. And to not have Gesell out there in the last four minutes is baffling. He is arguably our most important player as far as our offense running smoothly.

Okay seriously dude... just take a long walk off a short plank. That or have another beer and go for a walk. We're in position to make a good tourney run so unless you want another 7 years like we've had, no more talk like this!

How many close games against good team has he won while at iowa? Cause to me he loses every flipping one of them with his bad decisions on who to have on the court and who is taking these last shots. Add in that this recruiting class is terrible yeah things look great.

The fact that we've come from Lickliter to being in conference title contention with 6 games to play says Fran probably isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
 
I'm hoping that wasn't Fran's call. No way should McCabe be called on to land the game winner, ever!
 
What did they shoot from behind the arc? Fran can't make some of the poor decisions the players made. Shot selection wasn't very good on several possessions. The first half was brutal to watch. Goes back to starting slow, catching up or and sometimes with big leads, and not finishing games. Kind of like the football team at times. Fran is staying and a total meltdown is not necessary.

Do you think McCabe took the shot because he was open not because he was the first option?? There's things you and I do not know because we're not in the huddle, but to make a statement Fran is a horrible coach is ridiculous. We've won some close games and we've lost some close games. It's called sports and it just seems we've lost close games and I agree that his decision to have McCabe out there instead of Gessell has me baffled. Not getting the ball to Oglesby has me scratching my head as well, but we do have Asst. coaches who should be pointing this out if aren't already. I'm ticked off too, but wanting Fran's head is utterly ridiculous!

In post-game, McCaffery said Oglesby was the first option, McCabe the second option. McCabe got a very good look, but short-armed it.
 
How about the damn refs not calling the OBVIOUS dribble by Jackson towards the end of the game that allowed them to take the lead. Numerous no calls when we took it to the hole and they made contact. Good grief ,we never even made it to the bonus. Give credit where credit is due. Wisconsin put the ball in the basket. Really hard to beat a team when they shoot that well from outside. Their center is a nightmare to defend. We played very well.Came up short........again though.
