Fran not need to play Brommer/Archie the rest of the year

I would much rather see White/Olensani play before either of the seniors. These guys are 4 year players and are not good. Let the younger players play and get experience.

We need to play:

Marble
Gatens
Olgesby
White
Basabe

and throw in May, McCabe, Carwright, Olesani, and Stokes in there for minutes. We need to settle on 5 guys and play them 30 minutes a game.

Not so sure about the 5 for 30, but I like the top 9. Olaseni should have Brommer's minutes, unless Gabe is still hurt.

You don't want Artchie or Brommer on the floor if the game is still on the line. I think May and McCabe also got way too many minutes last night.

Why do people continue to insist that Stokes get playing time? I appreciate the effort those guys give in practice and they are a valued member of the team, but he will not see the court unless its mop up time.

Am I missing something?

I still struggle seeing May out there. Maybe the guy is lights out in practice but come game time I just don't see it ... I like seeing White and Josh out there. Let them make their freshmen mistakes ... Brommer ... well ... hmmmm

I just feel that Brommer hurts us inside more than he helps us. He is not an effective player on offense and he is not a good defensive player. I agree we need to play the younger players and live with their freshman mistakes. I think White/cartwright/olgesby should play more. McCabe, Brommer, and even May need their minutes cut.

May i feel is still our best defender and he did a good job on Hummel last night. 5 for 14 was pretty good defense, the bad thing was that the other players for Purdue got hot and beat us. I think May is a good defensive player, but he needs to get more aggressive on offense and also Fran needs to set some back door picks for alley oops for him. Let him get towards the basket, his shot from outside struggles at times.

The question I keep coming back to is why on earth is Olaseni not getting any minutes? It was pretty clear last night to me that with how easily Purdue kept getting to the rim and in the lane that we could have used someone with some shot blocking ability to disrupt some shots. I guess I just don't understand why he isn't even getting in the game for a few minutes. He has looked pretty good to me or at least as good as Brommer or better.

Mccabe played awful last night and should have not came in for the entire second half. The coaching staff was livid with him during almost every timeout it seemed like. I would have liked to see Olesani in there and less Brommer. I though May guarded Hummel pretty well for the most part so I wasn't too upset about him being in there.

Well Archie hasn't played meaninful minutes for quite some time so those have already been gone. I'm fine with giving Brommer's minutes to Olaseni when he is healthy.

But big picture...

No matter what the line up... there is always at least 1 guy out there I wish wasn't.
That's just the talent we currently have.

If we have 6 fouls and Wisconsin has Frank Kaminsky in the game (played every game, averages 8 minutes). I'm fine with Brommer going in and fouling him 5 times in a row when we are on Defense. 6'-11" and his 20% FT shooter. Might be able to limit their half court effectiveness if we are putting that guy on the line every trip. Wisconsin isn't shooting as well from the stripe as recent years. At a glace, it looks like Wisconsin isn't as deep as usual. 6 guys with 23min/g #7 is only 10 min/g.

Great Point! Hard to remember to be patient as it seems like we've been doing this for a long long time.
