Come on guys, leave herby alone. He's not here...
Unless there are walk-ons, yes.
Really? Seems like it was working quite well towards the end of last season plus their is an argument that our PG position has been upgraded. Educate us as to why it's not a good BIG10 lineup please.
I really have to answer that? You think Iowa will be at its best with McCabe, Basabe, and White on the floor at the same time? Why is it not a good Big 10 lineup? Because Basabe is not a good Big 10 PF, and McCabe is not a good Big 10 center. I have my doubts that White would be a good Big 10 SF while we're at it.Really? basketballman was off anyway...he thought that gesell, marble, white, basabe, mcabe was the lineup at the end of last yr...when 1 of those guys wasnt on the team and one of those guys was in so much foul trouble they werent on the court.
in fact the best lineup last yr was: bc, gatens, marble, white, basabe (at the end of the yr) or mccabe (when not fouling). that lineup had a ballhandler, an outside scorer, a flat out scorer (does it many ways), a versatile post and either a shot blocker or a tank.
because of some players limitations early i think our best lineup this yr will be a smaller lineup as well.
pg - gesell (ballhandler and scorer)
sg - ogelsby (outside scorer)
sf - marble (flat out scorer)
pf - white (varsatile post)
c - basabe/mccabe/olaseni (some shot blocking, some tank play, and 2 of them know how to score)
obviously others will play but the 1st 4 guys with the 5th being whichever of the last 3 is having a better game is what i expect at the end of games. woody will be a detriment as a foul shooter and isnt a great defender. clemmons and ingram have defense but we need people that can also shoot the outside shot to open up lanes for a pg or marble or white. may doesnt handle the ball well enough to be in at the end of the game.
