After the presser he is having 1 on 1 meetings with all current players, and he has already contacted the 4 recruits that have signed, and will continue to have phone conversations with the recruits.

This has shades of the Nebraska football debacle that was Bill Callahan. He just never embraced what was Iowa basketball, and either did Bill. Then hire Pelini and the first thing he says is I want the former players here and I want them to have input on our job here. Smart man Fran is. He needs to get out and connect with the students!!!!!!!!!!

That was cool to hear that too! Trying to recruit Settles and his parents were season ticket holders at Iowa. Atleast he had the marbles to go in the house and recruit against all odds. Good ambition!

I liked his assessment of our current players: "They're Hungry." That speaks volumes to me. I made a comment about how underutilized I believe our kids were in Lick's "system." I don't think that's going to be a problem any more.

Me too, i felt very weary about the hire, but i am now very optimistic that he has the ability to turn this thing around, and rather quickly imo.
