Fran Commented on Marble from Creighton scrimmage

cyfan? Troll? Not quite Scorpio. I'm probably a bigger Hawkeye fan than you are. Just being realistic and speaking the truth. I luv Fran, but, some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is ridiculous.

Being a fake tavernhok isn't the same as being a UNIVERSITY OF IOWA GRAD #VinWins

I really like Fran, but if he were a TacoBell franchise owner, he would swear that his employees served the best food on the planet--not just the best pre-cooked, lukewarm, triglyceride-spiking, polymer-based Mexican fast food--but the best food on the entire planet.

I usually say all this after I drink a bunch.

Yea people who didn't go to college shouldn't even be allowed to watch college sports

Wow--my post took things in a direction that I was not anticipating.

As I mentioned, I really like Fran, and I think that Jon is right that we need a little "showman-ship" to get the program up and running again. I wasn't trying to be critical of Fran, more of a tongue-in-cheek jest about his puffery.

I'd rather have a guy who sees the world as a glass half-full all the time than a guy who sees it as half-empty.

Fran is trying to build up his players confidence. He is also building a program in which the players will run through a brick wall for their coach because he has their backs, don't underestimate the significance of this fact. Word gets around, and if players truly love playing for Franny recruits know it and it helps us that much more down the road. It was pretty apparent none of the guys really cared about playing for Lick that much and we all know how that went. Fran knows what he is doing here, he knows the players read the stuff he says in the media. He is using the media to the programs advantage and as another way to get through to his players that he believes in them. He is building camaraderie and a true "team" now. It will show on the court.
