Re: I would agree that FOX's college broadcasts...

Dick Stockton will be completely underwhelming tonight. He doesn't do college games all year and will not be familiar with what's going on. Charles Davis is a good commentator, he at least is familiar with the teams and what they are about.

Davis is the one that said Iowa lost it's last 2 games after the Stanzi injury

I did enjoy FOX's gratutious shots of those TCU stripp...er, dancers, in the purple hot pants. I found it very strange TCU would have a group of girls like that, and even more suprised by the "exotic" dances they were performing. It made me forget about the C in TCU.

nah they just looked hotter than they really were (though they were hot) because the only thing you had at hand to compare to was the "girls" that Boise brought down ... I didn't realize the pickings were so slim in Idaho

A few things on Boise:

For one, the cowbell girl was blind. Marching Bands take their cues visually. Kind of crappy Fox put her on TV.

Two, while BSU had some porkers, they had some good pickin's too. Did you see the upclose of one of their band directors?

Nice pic on the band leader!! I have to agree Fox Sports has no business doing college games. If I hear one more reference on who is going to go where in the pro's I think I'm gonna hurl.

FOX does a horrible job all around. I was taken back a little when I saw the game was on fox. I have seen H.S. football games, shot by students who do a better job than FOX does. Amen to bringing college bowl games back to ESPN.

Their incessant crowd closeups were one of the most annoying things I have ever witnessed while watching a college football game. No doubt they'll pull the same crap tonight. Probably try to find the most "rural" looking Hawk fans.

Really, FOX, I don't need to see the tear-strewn face of the TCU semi-hottie. Really, I don't. It's OK. You can just show me the players and refs and coaches and I'm totally down with it. Maybe a few gratuitous dance team shots...but you get the drift.

Edit...that pic of the Boise chick looks exactly like an ex-girlfriend of mine. Creepy.

I can't stand Charles Davis, I don't know what it is. I think he feels like he needs to make some comment after every single time the play by play guy talks, and he announces like the audience has never watched a football game before.

There is no possible way that tonight's announcers can be as bad as the d-bags that did the Iowa/USC Orange Bowl ... Thankfully ESPN spent mission-to-the-moon money to get these games back

Amen to the first part of that. Couldn't agree more that they were PAC 10 homers. And considering the way that game went after the first 20 seconds, I can't remember being more upset with announcers for any game anytime.

Unfortunately, Ed (Washington Huskie) Cunningham still works for ABC/ESPN and we could see him again. Tim Brandt's (whose son played for UCLA in 2003) contract wasn't renewed two years ago and now is a TV Sports Director in the Washington DC area.

Nightmare scenario: Ed Cunningham, Jessie Palmer and Craig James doing an IOWA game.
